WAYSIDE TALES
Collecting and preserving local stories through music and song
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Wayside Tales project aims to capture the memories of a small rural community and preserve them in folk song. Driven by a keen interest in family and local history, I discovered a handful of local tales and from them composed six original tracks which form the Wayside Tales EP. The songs were performed back to the community which inspired the project, at a concert held on the 6th April 2019. The project focuses on the small and ordinary stories that create our village identity. To learn more about the individual tales behind each track, visit the pages below.
